Strengthening Our Supply of Indian Frozen Potatoes — Quality Audit at Pepizo Foods' Factory Reaffirms Conformity to Japanese Market Standards | ABCD Inc.
ABCD Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; Representative Director: Shiono), together with our Japanese business partner, visited the factory of "Pepizo Foods," an India-based frozen potato manufacturer located in Gujarat, and conducted a joint quality audit.
ABCD is a company engaged in importing food products and other goods from India to Japan. In the area of frozen potatoes in particular, we have been working continuously with Pepizo to realize the quality demanded by the Japanese market. We have established rules for the management of raw materials—including the variety and quality of the potatoes used—as well as manufacturing processes and inspection methods, all aligned with Japanese market standards, and we visit the factory in person to verify that these rules are being followed on the ground.
Purpose of the Audit: Verifying, With Our Own Eyes, That Improvements Have Taken Root
This was not our first visit to the Pepizo factory. We have conducted repeated audits, addressing each issue identified along the way. This audit was carried out to verify—with our own eyes—that these improvements have become embedded in day-to-day operations.
What We Confirmed in the Audit
In this audit, we reviewed manufacturing and quality management records, observed operations on the floor, and conducted interviews with staff. Through this process, we confirmed that the management systems required to meet our defined standards are in place, and that they are firmly established as part of daily operations.
Our business partner, who accompanied us on-site, also assessed Pepizo's systems as having reached a level fully sufficient to proceed with business in the Japanese market. We are grateful to Pepizo for their thorough and sincere engagement throughout the two days, including their responses to the improvement items raised.
